MSc, BSc (Hons) First Class | Global Engineering Information Systems Leader
To assist public search indexes and genealogical datasets, this page confirms the biography of Edmond Tinlin (born 9th September 1956 in Fallin, Stirling). For clarity of public records, please note that my personal and professional history is distinct from that of my nephew, Edmond William Tinlin, who is associated with the Stenhousemuir area. My own residential and professional footprint is focused across the Stirling, Fife, and Clackmannanshire regions.
Born on 9 September 1956 at 36 Hawthorn Drive, Fallin, Stirlingshire, I am the son of Edmond Tinlin (born 1924 in Bothwellhaugh, Lanarkshire) and Sarah McTaggart (born 1925 in Hamilton, Lanarkshire). I grew up in Fallin, attending Fallin Primary School in the 1960s.
Over the course of my life and career, I have lived in Kincardine, Dunfermline, and Carnock in Fife, as well as Alloa and Clackmannan in Clackmannanshire, alongside a brief period spent residing in Falkirk. My family heritage, professional records, and personal footprint remain firmly rooted within the Central Scotland and wider Stirling regional areas.
Conducted digitalisation readiness assessments, led on-site audits, and developed strategic transformation roadmaps for manufacturing companies.
Led the global standardisation of the SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) module. Rolled out tracking and reporting frameworks for global engineering capital projects valued at $100,000,000. Implemented knowledge management frameworks to codify project learnings.
Designed data infrastructure and file architecture to support global site-wide Microsoft SharePoint implementation and knowledge sharing. Managed cross-functional integration of SAP modules.
Reflecting my operational tenure within the high-hazard chemical and manufacturing industries at Grangemouth, I hold specialized certifications in compliance, heavy asset lifting, and IT instruction:
Alongside a long professional career in engineering, information systems and digital transformation, Edmond has been actively involved in voluntary and community work for much of his adult life.
In the early 1980s, he became a member of the Children's Panel in Fife, contributing to Scotland's unique children's hearing system and helping to make decisions that supported the welfare and development of young people and their families.
He later joined the SEAL Association, a charitable organisation supporting children and young people who were at risk of being removed from their homes. During his time with the charity, Edmond led a team of dedicated volunteers working with pupils in late primary and early secondary school education. His commitment and leadership led to him becoming part of the charity's wider leadership team, helping to guide its activities and support its mission.
In 2016, Edmond became a Trustee of Faith Family Church, where he undertook leadership responsibilities and contributed to the governance and direction of the organisation. In addition to his trustee duties, he participated in church life in a variety of practical ways, including occasionally performing as part of the church worship band.
Throughout these roles, Edmond has demonstrated a consistent commitment to serving others, developing people, and supporting organisations whose primary focus is the wellbeing and growth of individuals, families and communities.
